I did not intend to use ssl for my site since it does not contain much sensitive information. I thought it could only increase the browsing overhead but does nothing else.
However, I sadly found out that the dedicate VPN service is sniffing my data and filtering the network connection based on some keywords. I could not tolerate that not only because of privacy issue, but also it constantly breaks the link of to my site. Imagining uploading some files, and you are told the upload is failed because the files contain a sensitive plain-text “torrent”.
That is ridiculous. I can understand they would like to block P2P connections, but they should not use such a naive way.
Today it took me 5 hours to figure out where goes wrong. I originally thought the Seafile has bug. Then I though it is the Apache’s problem. But when I step in, I found it is the virtual network provider.
Anyway, I have switched all my sites to HTTPS, and no more blockage any more.
