The Rainier Mountain

We went to the Rainier Mountain yesterday. It is the highest mountain in the US, which is about 4000m. We are not going to reach its peakšŸ˜„. Our car can drive to about 1500m, and then we climb 500m to the destinationĀ called the Panorama Point at about 2000m. From 2000m to 3000m, snow-hiking equipments are required. There will be a campground at 3000m. From 3000m to 4000m, you need to have a hiking permit and under the accompany of a tourist guide.

The pictures show the place of parking area. Below is a big valley. We are right below the cloud.

A model in the visitor center.

Start climbing. It is very nice here. Very green. Some snow. And you can see some vague shape of the Rainier Mountain in the sky.

Stepping higher. Now you will see less green and more snow there. We went into the cloud and it also becomes hard to see thing clearly.

A lot of snow in this part. Feel like going back to Madison. Though I was surrounded by snow, I didn’t feel much cold. Perhaps it’s because of hiking and generating substantial heat.

Go even higher. Now this part is rocky but has less snow. The sky also becomes clearly as the cloud is temporarily blown away. We are lucky.Ā šŸ˜

There are many lovely animals everywhere. This is a little squirrel.

Buckley / WA / United States - 7/16/16

Look like this is the destination. It is not the highest point yet, but because the time is not early. We needed to go back.

Some pictures of the return trip.

Five people.

Some small video clips

Final remarks: Overall, I feel this trip is better than theĀ Lake Serene and Bridal Veil Falls. It is less challenging and more fun. When you are here, I probably would prefer to take you here. It is a must go attraction in the Seattle area.
